Overview
The Denver Broncos selected RB Knowshon Moreno from Georgia with the 12th overall selection in the 2009 NFL Draft, and DE Robert Ayers with the 18th overall pick.

In the 2008 season, the Broncos finished 8-8 in the regular season, finishing in second place in the AFC West. This is the Broncos' first draft under new head coach Josh McDaniels, who replaced Mike Shanahan in January.

The Broncos have used six of their last eight first-round selections on offensive players, including in 2008, when they selected Boise State offensive tackle Ryan Clady.

- The Broncos acquired the 26th pick in the 7th round (235th overall) from the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for Domonique Foxworth on Sept. 2, 2008.
