Overview
Sammie Lee Hill is a defensive lineman for the Detroit Lions, who selected him with the 115th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Hill played four seasons of college football for Stillman, where he was a two-time All-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection. Hill is 6-feet, 4-inches tall and weighs 270 pounds.

Hill came to Stillman from West Blockton High School in West Blockton, AL.
College Career
At Stillman, Hill played all over the field, seeing time at defensive tackle, linebacker, tight end, and even kicker. As a junior, Hill recorded 52 total tackles (14.0 for loss) and 4.5 sacks. He also had a 38-yard interception return for a touchdown, earning first team All-SIAC honors. As a senior, Hill was moved exclusively to the defensive end position, where he recorded 59 total tackles (15.5 for loss) and 7.5 sacks, repeating as a first team All-SIAC selection.After the 2008 season, Hill was invited to participate in the 2009 East-West Shrine Game. However, he suffered a hamstring injury during practice and had to withdraw from the game.
NFL Career
Hill was selected in the fourth round (115th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. Before the 2009 season, Hill signed a three-year contract with Detroit.
