This game is unlike any other in the 10-year history of the MWC. This will be the first game between two Mountain West teams with records at least eight games above the .500 mark. Utah and TCU are the only FBS or FCS teams with at least nine wins this season despite no player with at least 500 yards rushing. Matt Asiata leads Utah in rushing with 415 yards, and Joseph Turner leads TCU with 444 yards. The rushing leaders on the other nine-win teams: MiQuale Lewis, 989 yards for Ball State; Evan Royster, 970 for Penn State; Glen Coffee, 839 for Alabama; Baron Batch, 589 for Texas Tech.
