Overview
Jeremy Childs is a former wide receiver at Boise State University, where he was a two-time All-WAC selection. After his junior season, Childs chose to forgo his final year of eligibility and enter the 2009 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. Childs is 6-feet tall and weighs 196 pounds.
Prep Career
Childs caught 120 passes in his final two seasons at Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos, CA. He was ranked as the No. 53 wide receiver prospect in the class of 2005 by Scout.com. Childs made visits to Arizona State and UCLA, and at one point in his recruitment was close to signing with UCLA. However, he made a visit to Boise State in January of 2005, and signed with the Broncos two weeks later.
2005-2007
After redshirting in 2005, Childs saw limited action in 2006. As a regular starter in 2007, Childs set a Boise State school record for receptions with 82. He was the seventh player in Broncos history to go over 1,000 yards receiving, earning first team All-WAC honors. However, his season ended prematurely when he was suspended for a violation of team rules prior to the Hawaii Bowl.
2008
Childs was also suspended from school for the entire spring semester in 2008, but returned to school in time to play football in the fall of 2008. After sitting out the first game of the season as a result of his suspension, he led the Broncos with 72 receptions for 802 yards. He earned first team All-WAC honors for the second consecutive year, and capped off his career with seven receptions for 61 yards in Boise State's Poinsettia Bowl loss to TCU.
Professional Career
Childs went undrafted in the 2009 NFL Draft. After the draft, Childs agreed to a free-agent contract with the San Diego Chargers. He was waived by San Diego on June 19, and is currently a free agent.
