Overview
Demonte' Bolden is a defensive tackle for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League. Bolden played four seasons for the Tennessee Volunteers. He was eligible to be selected in the 2009 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. Bolden is 6-feet, 5-inches tall and weighs 290 pounds.
Prep Career
After playing four seasons for Tyner Academy in Chattanooga, TN, Tyner was one of the top recruits at his position in the nation. Scout.com ranked him as the No. 5 defensive tackle prospect in 2004 and he committed to Tennessee. However, he failed to qualify academically, so he attended Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, VA. After playing one season at the prep school, he enrolled at Tennessee.
College Career
Bolden played in only one game as a freshman, however, he was denied a redshirt year for the 2005 season. After playing one more season as a reserve, Bolden became a starter in 2007. He started all 12 regular season games, but was declared academically ineligible for the 2008 Outback Bowl. Bolden regained his eligibility for the 2008 season, and played all 12 games for Tennessee. He finished his career with 83 total tackles, including 15.0 for loss.
Personal
Bolden is engaged to Nicky Anosike, a former Tennessee basketball star who now plays in the WNBA.
Professional Career
Bolden was eligible to be selected in the 2009 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He signed a free-agent contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League on June 1, 2009, and made his professional debut during the 2009 CFL season.
