Overview
Gregory Carr is a former wide receiver at Florida State. After playing four seasons for the Seminoles, Carr was eligible to be selected in the 2009 NFL Draft but went undrafted. Carr is 6-feet, 6-inches tall and weighs 217 pounds.
Prep Career
From Reddick, Fla., Carr graduated from North Marion High School in 2004. He earned All-State first team in Class 3A as a junior and senior. He was All-State First Team in basketball as a freshman. Scout.com ranked Carr as the No. 55 wide receiver recruit in the class of 2004. He committed to FSU in December of 2003, choosing the Seminoles over Alabama, Georgia, Miami (FL) and Wake Forest.
Freshman Year
Carr played in 12 of 13 games as a true freshman, finishing with 618 receiving yards and leading the team in yards per catch (20.6) and TD receptions (9). His nine TD receptions led the ACC and were the most by an FSU first-year player since Warrick Dunn scored 10 in 1993. He was named All-ACC Second Team.
Sophomore Year
Carr played in all 13 games and was named All-ACC Second Team for the second straight season. He caught 12 TD passes, the fourth most by a WR in a season in school history. His 72 points trailed only Georgia Tech's Calvin Johnson for most points scored by a WR in the ACC.
Junior Year
Carr started seven of 12 games and had career highs in both receptions (45) and receiving yards (795). However, his TD receptions went from 12 in 2006 to four in '07. Carr became only the sixth player in school history with at least 30 receptions in three consecutive seasons.
Senior Year
In 2008, Carr finished first among FSU players in receiving yards (542) and second in receptions (39). In four seasons, he had 148 receptions, 2,574 receiving yards, and 29 TD. He matched his career high with eight receptions in his final college game, the Champs Sports Bowl.
Professional Career
Carr was eligible to be selected in the 2009 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. Carr signed a free agent contract with the San Diego Chargers. He was waived on Aug. 31, 2009 and is currently a free agent.
