Overview
Tony Carter is a former cornerback for Florida State. After a four-year career, Carter was eligible for the 2009 NFL Draft but went undrafted. After the draft, Carter agreed to a free-agent contract with the Denver Broncos. Carter is 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighs 166 pounds.
Prep Career
Carter attended Mandarin High School and was ranked the No. 2 cornerback in the country. He was named to the Tallahassee Democrat Sunshine 75 and played quarterback and wide receiver in addition to playing cornerback his senior year. He also was a member of the East squad in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
College Career
Carter redshirted the 2004 season, but stepped right into the starting lineup as a freshman in 2005, earning Freshman All-American honors. As a sophomore, Carter missed two games with a knee injury -- the only two games he didn't start in his college career -- but returned to earn defensive MVP honors at the Emerald Bowl. Carter ended his career with 33 consecutive starts and earned All-ACC second team honors as a senior.
Pro Career
Tony Carter went undrafted in the 2009 NFL Draft, but signed a free-agent contract with the Denver Broncos. He was cut by the team prior to the 2009 season, and is currently a member of the Broncos practice squad.
