Overview
Arcilla Alexander Magee is a defensive tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs, who selected him with the 67th overall pick in the 3rd round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Magee played four seasons at Purdue University. Magee is 6-feet, 4-inches tall and weighs 295 pounds.
Prep Career
During his senior season at Oswego High School in Oswego, IL, Magee recorded 60 tackles (11 for loss) and eight sacks, earning conference player of the year honors. He was the No. 32-ranked defensive tackle prospect in the nation according to rivals.com. He signed with Purdue after also considering Wisconsin, Indiana and Iowa.
College Career
Magee played his first three seasons at Purdue at defensive tackle. He played every game during those three seasons, racking up 89 total tackles and 2.5 sacks. He blocked two field goal attempts as a junior, and scored his only career touchdown as a sophomore against Illinois (fumble recovery in end zone). For his senior season, Magee moved outside to defensive end. He started all 12 games for the Boilermakers, recording 28 tackles (6.0 for loss) and a career-high 3.5 sacks. He didn't record a tackle in either of his last two games with Purdue, but was invited to participate in the Senior Bowl.
NFL Career
Magee was selected in the third round (67th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. Before the 2009 season, Magee signed a contract with Kansas City. Terms were not disclosed.
