Overview
William Benjamin Davis Jr. is a defensive end for the Arizona Cardinals, who selected him with the 204th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Davis played four seasons at Illinois, where he was an all-Big Ten selection. Davis is 6-feet, 3-inches tall and weighs 268 pounds.
Prep Career
Davis was a two-way starter at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, MD. During his senior year, he scored 10 touchdowns as a wide receiver and recorded 24 sacks on defense. After making his final official visit to Illinois, he chose to commit to the Illini.
College Career
Davis played sparingly on both sides of the ball as a true freshman, but was moved to defense full time for 2006. He played every game for Illinois over his final three seasons, finishing his career with 95 total tackles (23 for loss) and 15.0 sacks. Davis's best season came in 2007. He finished the year with 41 total tackles (12.5 for loss) and led Illinois with 9.5 sacks. He helped the Illini reach the Rose Bowl, where he recorded two total tackles in the loss to USC.
NFL Career
Davis was selected in the sixth round (204th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. Before the 2009 season, Davis signed a three-year/$1.251M contract with Arizona.
