Overview
Victor Harris is a defensive back for the Philadelphia Eagles, who selected him 157th overall in the 2009 NFL Draft. Harris originally declared for the 2008 NFL Draft, but chose to return for his senior season at Virginia Tech, where he played for four years. Victor Harris is 6-feet tall and weighs 194 pounds. Prep Career
Harris was a PARADE All-America selection as a senior in high school, rushing for 2,346 yards and 27 touchdowns as a running back at Highland Springs High school in Highland Springs, Virginia. He also caught four touchdown passes, scored four touchdowns on returns and had three interceptions as a defensive back. He was the No. 8 ranked defensive back in the nation according to Scout.com, and signed with Virginia Tech, despite suffering a burn due to a grease fire during coach Frank Beamer's visit to his home.
Sophomore Year
After seeing limited duty during his freshman season, Harris became the starter at cornerback for the Hokies in 2006. He had two interceptions against Cincinnati, including one he returned for a touchdown, and finished the season with 34 total tackles and four interceptions.
Junior Year
During his junior season, Harris led Virginia Tech with five interceptions to go along with his 36 total tackles. He also saw action as a returner, bringing back a kick 100 yards for a touchdown against Clemson. He was a first team All-ACC selection, and declared for the NFL Draft, but changed his mind less than a week after declaring and withdrew his name from consideration.
Senior Year
In 2008, Harris missed Virginia Tech's season opening loss to East Carolina with a sprained foot, but returned the next week, and finished the season with a team-high six interceptions. His two interception returns for touchdowns matched Mark Herzlich of Boston College for the conference lead. He also saw time at wide receiver as a senior, catching eight passes for 63 yards. He repeated as a first team All-ACC selection, while also earning second team All-America honors from The Associated Press.

Harris was selected in the fifth round (157th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. Before the 2009 season, Harris signed a four-year/$1.93M contract with Philadelphia.
Personal
Harris is the son of Victor Harris and the late Maritza Harris. His mother passed away 10 days after his burn incident at his home.
