Special Teams Matchup
Published: 12/27/2006
These teams have the same overall record and both offenses rank in the teens, so it seems like the type of even matchup that could be decided by special teams. The most dynamic special teams player in the game, if not all of the bowls, is Cal's DeSean Jackson, who leads the nation in punt return average and has taken four kicks back for TD this season. Texas A&M has been solid in punt coverage, ranking 14th nationally in net punting, while punter Justin Brantly ranks fifth in punting average (45.3).
