Overview
Courtney Greene is a safety for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Greene was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in 2009. Greene played four seasons at Rutgers, where he was a three-time All-Big East selection. Greene is 6-feet, 2-inches tall and weighs 215 pounds.
Prep Career
Greene began his high school career at New Rochelle High School in New Rochelle, NJ, where he played alongside Ray Rice. In 2003, Greene led New Rochelle in tackles while also rushing for 1,114 yards and 19 touchdowns. Greene attended one year of prep school, at Bridgton Academy in Maine, before returning to New Jersey to join Rice at Rutgers.
Freshman Year
As a true freshman, Greene won the starting free safety spot in fall practice and went on to lead the team with 116 total tackles in 2005. Greene was a Freshman All-America selection by The Sporting News, forcing three fumbles from his safety spot. He helped Rutgers reach the Insight Bowl, the school's first postseason appearance since 1978.
Sophomore Year
Greene earned second team All-Big East honors in 2006, finishing second on the team with 82 total tackles and leading Rutgers with four interceptions.
Junior Year
Greene repeated as a second team All-Big East selection in 2007, leading Rutgers with 101 total tackles. His only interception as a junior came against Navy.
Senior Year
As a senior, Greene helped the Scarlet Knights make their fourth straight bowl appearance, finishing the season with 87 total tackles and two interceptions. He earned first team All-Big East honors, making him the only Rutgers player on the first team defense. Greene started a school-record 51 consecutive games at free safety and finished fourth in Rutgers history with 386 career tackles. After the 2008 season, he was selected to participate in the 2009 East-West Shrine Game. He had three total tackles in a winning effort for the East team.
NFL Career
Greene was selected in the seventh round (245th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. Before the 2009 season, Greene signed a four-year/$1.793M contract with Seattle.

Greene was waived by the Seahawks on Sept. 5, 2009, before ever playing a regular-season game for the team. He was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 21, 2009.
