Davon Anthony Drew is a tight end for the Baltimore Ravens. Drew played four seasons at East Carolina, where he was a three-time All-Conference USA selection. Drew is 6-feet, 4-inches tall and weighs 260 pounds. His first name is pronounced dah-VON.
Prep Career
Drew was a quarterback at New Bern High School in New Bern, NC. He racked up a 30-3 record as a starter, leading his team to back-to-back state championship appearances as a junior and senior. Scout.com ranked Drew as the No. 57 quarterback prospect in the class of 2004. He considered offers from Clemson and Maryland before committing to East Carolina two weeks before Signing Day.
Freshman Year
After redshirting the 2004 season, Drew spent all of 2005 as a reserve quarterback, but did not see any action. At that point, ECU coach Skip Holtz moved him to tight end to fill a need on the team and take advantage of Drew's increasing development in the Pirates strength program.
Sophomore Year
In his first season at tight end, Drew started six games and played in all 13. He finished the season with 16 receptions for 187 yards and three touchdowns. Drew earned third team All-Conference USA honors from the league's coaches.
Junior Year
As a junior, Drew caught 19 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns, earning honorable mention All-Conference USA honors. He started 12 of the 13 games he played, and twice had four receptions in a game.
Senior Year
In his senior season, Drew started all 14 games for the Pirates, helping them win the Conference USA Championship and reach the Liberty Bowl. Drew led the team with 695 receiving yards, his three touchdowns were tied for the team lead and his 43 receptions were second among all Pirates. He averaged 16.2 yards per reception, ranking third in the nation among tight ends. After the 2008 season, Drew was chosen to play in the Texas vs The Nation All-Star Classic. His only catch of the game went for a five-yard touchdown, helping the Nation team defeat the Texas team, 27-24.
NFL Career
Drew was selected in the fifth round (149th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens. He signed a three-year/$1.324M contract prior to the 2009 season.

Drew struggled with injuries during the 2009 preseason, and caught only one pass. He was waived on Sept. 5, 2009. The Ravens re-signed Drew to their practice squad on Sept. 15, 2009.
