Overview
Colin Brown is an offensive tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs, who selected him with the 139th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2009 Draft. Brown attended the University of Missouri, where he spent five seasons (including a redshirt freshman year). Brown is 6-feet, 8-inches tall and weighs 325 pounds.
Prep Career
Colin Brown lettered in four different sports at Braymer High School in Braymer, MO, but excelled on the football field. He was an all-state selection at defensive tackle as a senior, while also earning all-conference honors at tight end. However, he was not highly recruited and chose to walk on at Missouri.
College Career
Brown redshirted the 2004 season and his performance on the scout team earned him a scholarship for 2005. He saw most of his time on special teams in 2005 and 2006, before stepping into a starting role in 2007. He started all 13 games as a junior, moving from guard to right tackle. Brown again started all 14 games for the Tigers in 2008, earning honorable mention All-Big 12 honors. Brown was one of only two Missouri offensive lineman to earn all-conference honors in 2008.
NFL Career
Brown was selected in the fifth round (139th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. Before the 2009 season, Brown signed a three-year/$1.34M contract with Kansas City.
