So what should Lions fans expect from Matthew Stafford? Well not much the first year. The last five quarterbacks taken No. 1 overall have not done much in their first season, each throwing more interceptions than touchdowns, with the exception of Carson Palmer who held a clipboard his entire rookie year.

Drafting an offensive lineman at the 1st or 2nd overall pick has usually brought success to their teams.
There have been 11 offensive linemen drafted that high in the common draft era (since 1967). Eight of the 11 made it to at least one Pro Bowl and were selected to a total of 35 Pro Bowls.
